Viega’s innovative fittings are constructed with 3 key elements — (1) the Grip Ring, (2) the Separator Ring, and (3) the Sealing Element — to create a durable, leak-free connection.
- GRIP RING — Bidirectional teeth grip adds mechanical strength & securely locks the fitting to the pipe
- SEPARATOR RING — Physically separates the sealing element from flowing media in the fitting
- SEALING ELEMENT — Elastomeric seal compensates for small irregularities of the pipe surface
Each fitting is built with a bi-directional grip ring for robust mechanical strength and secure pipe connections. The separator ring prolongs the system’s life by protecting the sealing element, ensuring reliable performance under diverse conditions. The elastomeric sealing element compensates for pipe surface irregularities, ensuring a dependable metal-to-metal contact. Additionally, every Viega fitting is constructed with Smart Connect® technology that helps identify unpressed connections immediately.
Viega's Sealing Elements
Viega fittings come with either an EPDM, FKM, or HNBR sealing element that is factory-installed and field-ready, providing flexibility to choose the ideal sealing material for your specific application. Unlike O-rings that are designed to be replaced, these sealing elements are permanent once pressed, ensuring long-lasting and reliable connections throughout their operational lifespan.
EPDM Sealing Elements (Shiny Black)
EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) sealing elements are known for their excellent resistance to weathering, aging, and ozone exposure. They are commonly used in applications where exposure to outdoor environments and temperature fluctuations is a concern. EPDM sealing elements provide reliable sealing performance over time.

FKM Sealing Elements (Flat Black)
FKM (Fluorocarbon Rubber) sealing elements offer exceptional resistance to chemicals, oils, and high temperatures. FKM sealing elements ensure a secure and leak-free connection, even under challenging conditions.

HNBR Sealing Elements (Yellow)
